Health Center Governing Board Basics - Roles & Responsibilities

A workshop for new board members (and a refresher for experienced board members) that gives a broad, basic overview of the roles and responsibilities of a health center board member, member vs. board, and board/CEO relationship.

Cultural Competency
A series of two one-hour workshops that can be taken together or at separate times.

The first module provides an overview of the National Standards on Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and ways to incorporate these standards into the health center's organizational and clinical practice culture.

The second module focuses on identifying the underlying causes of patient-provider conflict, and highlights different strategies to deal with conflict.

Improving Your Practice
A three-hour workshop in which participants will learn about the Patient-Centered Medical Home model of care and how this model can improve clinic quality; the Chronic Care Model and how to apply it to clinic quality improvement efforts; and understand the Model for Improvement and be able to apply the PDSA cycle in clinics.
